Senior NodeJS Engineer

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, full stack
engineers, test automation engineers, and Scrum Masters to continuously
enhance customer experience.
• Spearhead the design and development of serverless API extensions using
NodeJS and TypeScript, ensuring high performance, scalability, and
maintainability.
• Introduce scalable, reusable serverless design patterns setting a high
standard for quality and performance in serverless applications.
• Extend and optimize public APIs from multiple third-party software vendors,
with a focus on core e-commerce domains such as inventory, orders,
shipping, taxation, cart transactions, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Participate in code reviews and automated testing efforts, ensuring code
quality and meeting coverage targets.
• Contribute to the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test,
integration, and production environments.
• Identify and negotiate technical debt with product owners for inclusion in
sprints, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with the entire digital and engineering
organizations, including Directors and members of the Product team.
• Mentor and coach mid-level and junior developers, fostering a sense of
ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Cultivate a positive team atmosphere that encourages open communication,
creative problem-solving, and innovative thinking.
You will come with
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a
related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years’ experience designing and developing applications using NodeJS
and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of server-side JavaScript
fundamentals.
• 3+ years’ experience building and deploying serverless applications using a
common serverless framework (Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions,
AWS Lamba, Serverless Framework or Claudia.js) with a focus on writing
clean, efficient, and reusable code.
• Passion for writing robust unit, integration and performance tests (Jest,
Mocha, Serverless test framework and K6) to ensure the highest code quality
standards and scalability.
• Accountable for extending OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to enhance observability
and monitoring as an integral part of the application delivery process.
• Commitment to high-quality coding practices, including comprehensive
documentation, active participation in code reviews, and adherence to best
practices in software development.
• Passion for staying current with the latest software tools and methodologies.
• Intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey
complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
